Hu`s visit to RF promotes deepening of two countries` relations-FM
BEIJING, June 18 (Itar-Tass) -- A visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao
to Russia promoted deepening of the two countries' strategic relations,
spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Qin Gang told journalists on
Thursday.
"The visit of Hu Jintao promoted further expansion of trade and
economic cooperation, exchanges between the two countries' peoples,
strengthened the foundation of our interaction in the future," the
diplomat said. "We are striving to reinforce cooperation with Russia,
especially in conditions of the complicating international situation and
the deepening world financial crisis." According to him, the
intensification of Russian-Chinese interaction "meets interests of
advancing peace, stability and security, the speediest restoration of the
world economy and stabilization of the international financial system."
Answering a question regarding problems in bilateral relations, Qin
Gang admitted "the existence of certain imbalances caused by the specific
character of the internal situation in each of the countries." At the same
time, he stressed that China "is striving to work together with Russia to
solve these issues." "It is much more important that both countries share
common approaches to the solution of international and regional problems
and intend to continue strategic interaction, make the bilateral dialogue
and cooperation more active to solve the existing issues," the diplomat
said.
