Political Affairs Undersecretary participates in Negev Forum's Steering Committee meeting in New York

New York, Sept. 22 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Negev Forum's Steering Committee meeting, which was held in New York, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).
 
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials in the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco, the United States of America, and the State of Israel.
 
The Undersecretary for Political Affairs affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote cooperation and coordination with the member states of the Negev Forum, in a way that contributes to the promotion of security, peace, coexistence and prosperity in the Middle East and the world. He noted the Kingdom's pride in co-chairing the healthcare and regional security groups with the United States of America and its keenness to promote the gains of regional integration, pursuant to the Abraham Accords and the outcomes of the Negev Summit for a safe and prosperous region.
 
The meeting reviewed the progress made in the implementation of the programmes of the six working groups of the Negev Forum, related to cooperation in the areas of food security and water technology, healthcare, clean energy, tourism, education and peaceful coexistence, and regional security.
