Finance Minister meets US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs

Rabat, Oct. 14 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, has affirmed the strength of the long-standing Bahrain-US relations, noting that the two countries have established a model for close joint cooperation and strategic partnership across various fields.
 
He also stressed the need to enhance bilateral ties further to benefit the two countries and their peoples.
 
The minister made the statements while meeting, in the presence of Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Ramin Toloui, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, on the sidelines of the 2023 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), currently held in Marrakech, Morocco.
 
The two sides discussed aspects of the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the financial and economic fields.
 
They stressed the importance of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), signed between the two countries during the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Washington, noting that C-SIPA is the cornerstone of joint Bahrain-US cooperation across various sectors, notably security, defence, advanced technology, trade and investment. They also affirmed the contributions of the agreement to strengthening regional security and economic development.
