The President Calls On The Int'l Community To Take Serious Action To Condemn The Systematic Attack On Gaza
Baghdad/ NINA/ -The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, called on the international community to take serious action to condemn the systematic attack, serious violations, and targeting of civilian institutions in the Gaza Strip, followed by an immediate cessation of hostilities.
In his speech at the Arab Islamic Summit, he called for quick and serious action to allow humanitarian aid convoys to enter the Palestinian territories immediately and without restrictions to provide relief to Palestinian citizens.
Rashid stressed that cutting off communications from the Gaza Strip aims to isolate more than two million people and hide the war crimes committed by the occupation there from the world, in addition to obstructing the tasks of international organizations, especially UNRWA.
He said that what the occupation army is committing in Gaza is an embodiment of the racist policy based on displacement, land confiscation, Judaization of Palestinian areas, and expansion of settlement construction.
He added that the brutal actions carried out by the occupation authorities now are a criminal attempt aimed at expelling the Palestinians from their homes, and it is a miserable and completely rejected policy.
The President of the Republic explained that Iraq looks with great concern the human suffering affecting the Palestinians amid a strange and unjustified international silence, which threatens more tension, which perpetuates a climate of tension and growing crisis in the region, and hinders reaching a just and final solution.
At the conclusion of his speech, Rashid renewed Iraq's firm position on the Palestinian issue./End
