PM Receives The Speaker Of The Pakistani National Assembly And Confirms Iraq's Keenness To Develop Relations With Pakistan And Build A Mutual Partnership
Baghdad / NINA/ -Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, on Sunday, the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf.
During the meeting, according to a statement by the PM's media office, they discussed ways to strengthen Pakistani-Iraqi relations and areas of developing them at various levels, as well as enhancing military cooperation between the two countries. The meeting also witnessed discussion of efforts to resume the work of the joint Iraqi-Pakistani committee, whose work was suspended a while ago.
The statement added that the meeting touched on the escalation of the situation in Gaza, the worsening humanitarian situation, and the brutal bombing by the Zionist occupation authorities of civilians, hospitals, and shelter centers, in violation of international law, and stressed the importance of the Arab and Islamic countries and all the international community moving to stop the barbaric aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Prime Minister indicated Iraq's keenness to develop relations with Pakistan and build a mutual partnership for the benefit of the two friendly peoples, within Iraq's policy of establishing balanced relations based on mutual benefit and economic integration, as well as cooperation in the areas of combating terrorism./End
