Minister Of Communications Discusses With Her Iranian Counterpart Transit Projects And Increasing Internet Capacities
Baghdad / NINA /- Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, and her Iranian counterpart, Issa Zarepour, discussed transit projects and increasing Internet capacities.
The Ministry of Communications said in a statement: “Minister Hiyam Al-Yasiri received the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Issa Zarepour, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of advanced staff in the ministry. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries in joint projects, most notably the entry of Internet capacities through land ports. In addition to transit projects to link eastern Iraq with its west, completing the connection between the south and the north, all the way to Europe.
The statement explained: “Preparations for the upcoming Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) were discussed and the required procedures were completed to prepare for increasing the capacities used in line with the expected increase in the number of visitors arriving to Iraq.”
The Iranian minister expressed the readiness of his country's companies to cooperate and work jointly in the communications, informatics and postal sectors, especially in the field of passing Internet bandwidth and establishing data centers./End
