Iraq Condemns At An International Conference The Use Of Toxic Chemicals, The Latest Of Which Is Israel's Attacks On Gaza

Baghdad / NINA /- Iraq has condemned the use of toxic chemicals in recent times, the most recent of which is the Israel's attacks on Gaza and the genocide of defenseless citizens.

The head of the Iraqi delegation at the 28th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Minister Plenipotentiary Ali Hilal, said in a speech at the conference: “The organization is the tool that has proven its efficiency in verifying strict procedures for issues of security and safety on chemical weapons.”

He expressed, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraq's deep concern and strong condemnation of the recent use of toxic chemicals, the most recent of which is the "Israeli" entity's attacks on Gaza and the genocide of defenseless citizens."

He renewed Iraq's firm position of distancing the organization and its decisions from any politicization and the necessity of preserving its identity as a purely technical organization.

It is mentioned that Iraq was elected to membership in the accreditation committee in this conference on behalf of the Asian group.”/ End
