HM King salutes Bahraini women; commends their national role, wide-ranging achievements

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has praised Bahraini women’s wide-ranging achievements and landmark contributions to the kingdom’s comprehensive development process, along with men.

In a statement marking the Bahraini Women’s Day, observed annually on December 1, HM King Hamad commended the role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King and SCW President, in advancing women in the kingdom.

HM the King asserted that the designation of a national day for Bahraini women is in line with HM’s keenness to make the occasion a national gesture to salute women and express appreciation and gratitude to them for their continuous giving and contributions to the nation-building process throughout Bahrain’s history, establishing themselves as well deserved partners in enhancing the development process, as well as an essential source of the stability and security of the Bahraini society, whose members are supportive of women’s role and proud of their achievements across various fields.

In this regard, HM the King said: “The results achieved by Bahraini women, alongside men, in driving the progress of modern Bahrain, and their widely acknowledged excellent performance have proven that celebrating their giving is a deserved national recognition to highlight their notable achievements, and to demonstrate the outcome of their contributions.”

“On this occasion, we praise the vital and honourable role performed by the SCW, under the distinguished leadership of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, along with the contributions of the SCW members and the employees of its Secretariat General. These worthy efforts have had the deepest impact on the progress of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its development and enhancing its leading position on the international arena, in light of the rights that Bahraini women enjoy and the progress they have achieved, which has empowered them to undertake their roles and responsibilities to the fullest,” His Majesty said.

“Throughout its institutional work, the SCW has been able to demonstrate our vision on the advancement and progress of Bahraini women. It has become, as we wished, one of the results of our comprehensive development process that has paved the way for Bahraini women, as full-fledged citizens. Today, thanks to those efforts, women are an integral component in the process of modernisation and development, becoming more aware of their rights, in thought and practice, and capable of assuming their responsibilities with competence and confidence for Bahrain’s progress,” HM the King added.

HM King Hamad extended profound appreciation and gratitude to Bahraini women for their keenness to undertake their national and family roles to the fullest, congratulating them on the national wide-ranging achievements they have attained alongside men.
