PM Praises The Position Of The Secretary-General Of The UN In Activating Article 99 Of The UN Charter

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani praised the position of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in activating Article 99 of the United Nations Charter, calling on Islamic countries to support this initiative.

The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani received today, Thursday, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rashad Nabiyev, who is visiting Iraq to participate in the third meeting of the Joint Iraqi-Azerbaijani Committee, accompanied by a delegation of Azerbaijani businessmen."

The statement added, "During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and mutual cooperation was strengthened in the fields of energy, education, communications, infrastructure, housing, and defense industries."

Al-Sudani pointed to the relations between the two friendly countries, which are witnessing tangible steps, pointing to the strategic development road project, which will contribute to achieving economic development for the region and the world.

Prime Minister received through guest minister the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his country’s desire to develop bilateral relations with Iraq, and the aspiration for the involvement of major Azerbaijani companies in the Iraqi economy.

He stressed his country's readiness to receive Iraqi students to study in military academies at the expense of the Azerbaijani government./End
