Russia to harvest over 146 mln metric tons of grain in 2023 — Putin
MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. The grain harvest in Russia will be among record high ones this year, President Vladimir Putin said at the combined Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference.
"We have one of record high harvests again, more than 150 mln metric tons of grain. Truly, this is the total quantity. It will be somewhat about 146 mln metric tons in the net weight. This is with the so-called ‘new territories,’ where 5-6 mln metric tons will be produced. The result is good," the President said.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has many programs to support the agricultural sector and the government allocates a huge amount of funds for these goals, Putin noted. "Nevertheless, certainly, nothing would be without the active, earnest work of rural residents," he stressed.
