Nationwide meeting on education opened in Sayaboury

(KPL) An annual nationwide meeting on education for 2009 was officially opened on 22 June in Sayaboury province under the chairmanship of Mr. Somkiot Mangnormek, Minister of Education.
The event was attended by more than 200 senior officials from education sector including Mr. Lienthikeo, Governor of Sayaboury province.
The meeting has heard the report on educational development made in 2008-2009 period and discussed the development for the education sector for 2009-2010. They also shared their comments on a number of educational development project, especially the method for teaching at the primary school, the increase of grade 4 at lower secondary school and the preparation for the grade 7 at the high secondary.
They also talked about the educational development in the remote areas, the building of model school and the promotion for the community to participate in educational development.In 2008-2009 academic years, there were 1,129 nursery and kindergarten schools, 8,817 primary schools, increased 0.5% compared to the figure of previous year.
