The Prime Minister requests transformation of enterprises

Hanoi (VNA) – The Prime Minister has requested the transformation of wholly
State-owned enterprises be speeded up to ensure all of them start operating as
joint stock or limited liability companies by July 1 next year in accordance with
the deadline set by the Enterprise Law.

In his instruction 854/CT-TTg, the PM also required the Ministry of Planning and
Investment to finalise the draft Government decree on a pilot economic conglomerate
model in order to submit it to the PM for approval in July, 2009.

The PM also requested the economic conglomerates’ executive boards to review
their business activities, investment lists and their long term investment
strategies to ensure effective business operation.-Enditem
