The President of the Republic Confirms To The Spain PM Iraq's Position In Support Of The Palestinian People In Obtaining Their Legitimate Rights
Baghdad / NINA /- The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, discussed with the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and his accompanying delegation, relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, and expand bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests between the Iraqi and Spanish peoples.
In a presidential statement, Rashid stressed Iraq's keenness to strengthen friendly relations with Spain, and to advance and enhance them in areas of common interest, especially economic, environmental, cultural, agricultural, investment, and renewable energy.
He stressed, "Iraq has become a stable and safe environment and looks forward to the contribution of Spanish companies and businessmen in the construction and reconstruction process, rehabilitating infrastructure, improving health, education and service conditions, and benefiting from expertise in achieving comprehensive development, and coordination and cooperation between the two sides in combating the dangers of terrorism and extremism."
The statement added, "The meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, discussed the latest developments at the international and regional levels and Iraq's tireless efforts to establish security, stability and peace in the region."
The President affirmed Iraq's position in support of the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights, stressing the necessity of stopping the aggression and bombing of the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian cities and working to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid.
For his part, the Spanish Prime Minister expressed his country's keenness to maintain cooperation between the two countries and develop bilateral relations, praising Iraq's pivotal role and its efforts in bringing viewpoints closer between a number of countries in the region./End
