Diyala University Agrees With An Iranian Institute To Establish An Institute For Food Industries There

Baquba / NINA /- The University of Diyala held discussions via a closed electronic circuit with the Iranian Food Research and Learning Institute, on the sidelines of the Science Week between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The President of the University of Diyala, Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, said in a statement: “The discussions aim to open new horizons of cooperation with the Institute of Research and Learning for Food Research, at the level of organizing joint events, exchanging experiences, and investing joint efforts in producing scientific research and supervising postgraduate students, in addition to providing scholarships within the “Study in Iraq” initiative.

He added: “During the discussions, a number of proposals were presented that could implement the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the most important of which is the proposal to hold a joint international conference on food industries and the possibility of conducting joint research in this field, in addition to seeking twinning with the institute in order to establish an institute for food industries at the University of Diyala.”, pointing to the possibility of benefiting from the human and material resources that the institute possesses in this field.

For his part, the head of the institute, Muhammad Ali Radwi, stressed the institute’s keenness to hold joint activities and receive students and researchers in the field of food sciences, pointing out the importance of the proposal to shed light on food industry topics in an international conference, expressing the institute’s readiness to twin with the University of Diyala in establishing an institute for food industries, in addition to the possibility of cooperating with the university in establishing an advanced laboratory in this field.

The discussions resulted, according to the statement, in the formation of joint committees and research teams that implement what was agreed upon and set dates for exchanging visits. /End
