The President of the Republic discusses with the Azerbaijani Ambassador facilitating the mechanism for granting visas to Iraqi citizens
Baghdad / NINA / - The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iraq, Naseer Mamdov, the nature of bilateral relations and their development.
During the meeting, according to a presidential statement, Rashid stressed “the extent of the opportunities available to expand the horizons of bilateral cooperation at the political, economic, cultural, commercial and tourism levels,” stressing “the necessity of facilitating the mechanism for granting visas to citizens to include all cities, especially Sulaymaniyah Governorate, whose citizens struggle to obtain entry visas to Azerbaijan.”
In turn, the Azerbaijani ambassador expressed his country's desire to sustain and develop relations between the two countries, stressing that the important agreements and memoranda signed during the president's visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan are a pillar of comprehensive cooperation and building partnerships that serve mutual interests.
Ambassador Mamdov also stressed the importance of granting visas to all Iraqi citizens, including the people of the city of Sulaymaniyah, and simplifying the procedures taken in this regard, noting that work will be done to open a direct flight line between Baku and Sulaymaniyah./End
