UNITED NATIONS, June 25 (Itar-Tass) - The inflation level in Russia
this year will be 13 percent or less, Russian Vice Prime Minister and
Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin told Russian journalists on Wednesday.
"The strongest influence on our inflation in recent months was caused
by the January-February devaluation," he said. Import costs grew and this
kept prices at a high level and even caused their growth. "They are
continuing to grow, but at a slower pace," the minister noted.
Correspondingly, he continued, "the inflation tempo is slowing down,
the price growth tempo is slowing down, which allows us to say that we
will meet the target of 13 percent this year as we had forecasted." "Maybe
it will be even less, but uncertainly is still high," Kudrin added.
