In response to provocation committed by Armenian armed forces, “revenge operation” was conducted

On February 13, in response to the provocation committed by the Armenian armed forces yesterday, units of the State Border Service carried out a “revenge operation”.

As a result of the operation, the combat post near the Nerkin-And residential settlement in the Gafan district, where an Azerbaijani soldier was fired upon by the Armenian armed forces, was completely destroyed, and the fighting positions were silenced, the State Border Service told AZERTAC.

There is information available regarding serious losses among the personnel of the destroyed combat post.

In the future, any provocations aimed at escalating tensions along the Azerbaijan-Armenia conventional state border by the Armenian side will be met with even more serious and decisive measures.

The Armenian military and political leadership bears full responsibility for the incident.
