PM, Siemens CEO Discuss Opportunities To Develop The Energy Distribution And Transmission Sector Within The Iraqi Electrical Grid

Baghdad / NINA / -Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani discussed with the CEO of Siemens International Energy Company, Christian Bruch, the opportunities available to develop the energy distribution and transmission sector within the Iraqi electrical network.

 On the sidelines of Al-Sudani’s participation in the Munich Security Conference 2024, the two sides reviewed the projects undertaken by Siemens in Iraq, and ways to accelerate work, in addition to reviewing contracts and the progress made in implementing them, as well as studying the joint memorandum of understanding between the company and the Ministry of Oil regarding associated gas investment and developing capabilities of Iraq is in this vital field.

 The meeting also discussed the opportunities available to develop the distribution and energy transmission sector within the Iraqi electrical grid, as the Prime Minister indicated that it is not possible to bring about the desired development in the electrical network, except by developing all its sectors, and that efforts and plans should not be limited to developing production alone./End
