Iraq And Turkey Intend To Open Offices To Follow Up On The Implementation Of The “Development Road” Project
Istanbul (NINA) - Turkey and Iraq intend to mutually open offices to follow up on work related to the "Development Road" project.
The Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, said that the Turkish and Iraqi authorities are working closely and intensively regarding the project.
Uraloğlu indicated in a press statement that he recently met, in this context, with the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, and the accompanying delegation, where consultations took place on many aspects related to the development road project.
Uraloğlu stressed that the development road project has an important place in the relations between the two countries, and that work regarding the technical aspect of the project is continuing between Turkey and Iraq, and there is continuous communication regarding financing the project and its implementation.
The Turkish Minister of Transport said: It was agreed with Iraq to mutually open offices to follow up on the work related to the “Development Road” project, and concrete steps will be taken in this regard in the coming period.
It is noteworthy that the "Development Road" project includes a land road and railways, and extends from Iraq to Turkey and its ports, and begins from the port of Al-Faw in the Gulf of Basra in southern Iraq, with a length of 1,200 kilometers inside Iraq, and will be linked to the Turkish railway network. /End
