Obama to discuss nuclear non-proliferation in Moscow.
WASHINGTON, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - U.S. President Barrack Obama hopes
that during his upcoming visit to Moscow early in July he and Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev would discuss how the United States and Russia
could make progress in spheres of mutual interest. They include arms
reduction and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
President Obama told a news conference which he held together with
visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday that the United States
would continue developing meaningful relations with Russia. He said that
the United States and the Russian government worked well on questions in
which the two countries have a convergence of views and competed in areas
where they had differences.
The U.S. president added that the two sides were committed to nuclear
arms reduction and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. However, he
admitted that the solution wouldn't be quick and easy.

MOSCOW, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - Andrei Denisov, Russia's first deputy
foreign minister, and Michel Mullen, the head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of
Staff, on Friday discussed military and political aspects of bilateral
relations, including President Barrack Obama's visit to Moscow, a source
at the Russian Foreign Ministry told Itar-Tass.
The sides discussed urgent issues of Russian-American relations,
including military and political aspects in the context of preparation for
President Obama's visit to Moscow on July 6-8 this year.

WASHINGTON, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - Germany needs Russia for the
solution of problems linked to Iran, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said
at a joint news conference with President Barrack Obama after talks on
Friday.
"We need Russia. We need Russia given the problems that we are having
with Iran," Merkel said.
"We want to work out a joint position in all possible areas with
Russia and also China. Over the past few years we have been cooperating
within the United Nations. We have passed several resolutions and we
should continue this way," the German chancellor went on to say.
She stressed that partnership with Russia was vitally important not
only for Germany or the European Union but also for the United States.
"It's in our interests if the United States and Russia have good
relations,> Merkel said. She wished President Obama all the best during
his visit to Russia on July 6-8.

.Zyuganov opens personal page in the Internet.
MOSCOW, June 27 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Communist Party leader Gennady
Zyuganov who turned 65 on Friday used the occasion to open his personal
page in "Vkontakte.ru" (contacts) social web in the Internet in a bid to
win more young minds to his side.
Zyuganov joined the "Kommuna" (Commune) group, which unites more than
50,000 young supporters of communist and socialist ideas, the press
service of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party said.
It looks as if the Communists had seriously decided to step up
expansion of the worldwide web. Earlier, the Presidium of the Central
Committee of the Russian Communist Party had distributed a resolution
urging all regional party branches to open official websites by September
1.
"The Internet resource is remaining largely uncensored and
uncontrolled by the authorities. That creates favorable conditions for the
Communists, as the country's main opposition, to engage in propaganda,"
the resolution signed by Zyuganov says.
The Communist Party leader said it was important to step up expansion

broad masses of people in the Internet, including popular social webs.
