Rice-Transplanting Starts in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Rice-transplanting began in rural areas of South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.
Agricultural workers in Sinchon County raised healthy rice-seedlings on the basis of experience and set the right time for transplanting to suit the characteristics of species. They are now transplanting rice seedlings in farm fields with the help of machines.
Those in Pyoksong and Anak counties have carried out their daily quotas by giving priority to harrowing and management of rice-paddy irrigation and intensifying the inter-process cooperation.
Haeju City and Jaeryong County are concentrating efforts on the region with large area of paddy fields while improving the technical knowledge and skills of operators and seedling suppliers, thus ensuring the speed and quality of rice-transplanting.
Kangryong, Sinwon, Songhwa and other counties are also busy with rice-transplanting in every field. -0-
