Meeting with Heroes and Meritorious Persons Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Workers and trade union members met with heroes and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism at the Central Hall of Workers here on May 6.
At the meeting, speeches were made by Labor Hero Sin Chang Gyun, an ex-engineer of the West Pyongyang Service Brigade of Engine, and Ri Myong Sun, a weaver of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, Ri Ho Chol, a workshop head of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant, and Ri Yun Hui, a driver of the Pyongyang Construction Commission, who are meritorious persons of socialist patriotism.
They stressed that a life for the country is the most beautiful and worthwhile life, calling on the workers and trade union members to devote their patriotic mind to the journey for building a prosperous and powerful country and thus leave a clear trace of life remembered by the country.
They said that the country would further thrive when precious edifices conducive to the development of the national economy are built by our own efforts and technology.
The participants expressed their determination to become true patriots devoting themselves to the prosperity of the country like heroes and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism who have become the roots of a thriving power.
Present there were Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, trade union officials and workers and trade union members in the city. -0-
