Iraq and Syria agree to form joint committees to enhance relations and cooperation in various fields
Baghdad /NINA/- Iraq and Syria agreed to form joint ministerial committees of experts and specialists to discuss issues that strengthen relations and increase cooperation in various fields.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, Faisal Al-Miqdad, on the sidelines of the tenth session of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, which was held in Beijing.
During the meeting, according to the statement, a group of issues of common interest and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields were discussed. The two sides also exchanged views on the security situation in the region, and the importance of continuing communication was stressed to adopt unified positions with regard to combating terrorism and to work together to confront it.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed: “The Iraqi leadership in Baghdad will continue to communicate with all parties to solve the problems that affect the security situation in the region and find appropriate solutions to them through peaceful means.”/End
