Increased Production Witnessed at Chollima Steel Complex

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers at the Chollima Steel Complex in the DPRK boost the production of iron and steel.
The steel shop introduced a rational furnace bed construction method and manual tilting braking device and repaired defective elements to ensure full operation of electric furnaces.
It has also introduced the method of continuous charging, the method of high-temperature oxidation by oxygen blowing to shorten the steel-making time and increase the molten iron production per charge.
The rolling shop has applied a new jig to the high-temperature air-combustion wire furnace to reduce gas loss and increased the productivity of heating furnaces by increasing heat efficiency through the establishment of semi-water gasification system.
The wire-rolling sector has invented and introduced the technology of producing small rails with two calibers and established the process of producing strap steel plates to produce rolled steel of various sizes.
The gas producer shop, too, has increased the intensity of briquette, introduced rational furnace operation method and improved the capacity of blowers to supply quality gas. -0-
