Exhibition in Vladivostok to feature IT novelties Tue

VLADIVOSTOK, June 30 (Itar-Tass) - A week of information technologies
(IT), the DalInfoComm-2009, begins here on Tuesday with an exhibition on
the theme of "Information Technologies and Communications". Major
companies in the region are to present novelties of IT and communications.
An official at the press center of the Primorsky (maritime) Territory
(PT) administration has told Itar-Tass that the Dalinfocomm will also
include a workshop conference on the subject of "IT in the Socio-Economic
Development of the Asia-Pacific Region", which is to deal with matters
aimed at developing digital television and forms of interaction between
the government bodies and the population with the use of new techonologies.
The Dalinfocomm will culminate in a PT Internet-forum, at which a
Safe City project is to be presented and the results of innovation
projects for the National Prize for Contribution to the Development of
Information-Oriented Society in the Russian Federation are to be summed up.
The Dalinfocomm-2009 is to end with an open fox hunting (amateur radio
direction finding) championship on July 3.
An official at the Dalinfocomm organising committee said the events of
the IT week would help draw the attention of Federal government bodies and
large companies, including foreign business executives, to the development
of information technologies and telecommuciations in the PT, and
demonstrate a new level of IT quality and accessibility to PT residents.
