Vladivostok roads to be built with use of cement concrete

VLADIVOSTOK, June 30 (Itar-Tass) - The construction of new roads and
modernisation of old ones in Russia's Primorsky (maritime) Territory, or
Primorye, for short, will now be carried out with the use of cement
concrete.
A decision to this effect was taken here on Tuesday at a meeting
dedicated to the development of the transport infrastructure in the run-up
to the 2012 summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
Two roads, in particular, will be built in accordance with the new
technology. These are a road that will link the Patrocles Bay and and
bridge to Russky (Russian) Island, and a road between Novy (new) Township
and the Patrocles Bay, that will connect Vladivostok and airport across
the De-Friz Peninsula. The building of the former is to begin in September
this year.
The two roads, when built, will ease motor traffic in Vladivostok. It
will be possible to get from the airport to the center of the city, as
well as from the center to summit-related facilities within half an hour,
whereas now it takes 90-to-150 minutes longer.
