Chilingarov to present diplomas to Polar Academy grads

ST PETERSBURG, June 30 (Itar-Tass) - Artur Chilingarov, President of
the State Polar Academy (SPA), and Correspondig Member of the Russian
Academy of Sciences, presents diplomas to those who have graduated from
the SPA at a ceremony here on Tuesday.
Out of 200 graduates, more than 40 youths and girls "have been awarded
distinction diplomas", an SPA administration official has told Itar-Tass.
These are future national managerial personnel for the Arctic, Siberia,
and the Far East who have received purpose-oriented training here in the
fields of the management of natural resources, economics, ecology, and
philology, the official said.
In December 2008, Chilingarov was elected honorary professor of the
SPA. In 2009, theAcademy's Learned Council, on a recommendation from the
Federal Agency for Education, "unanimosuly elected Chilingarov President
of the Academy".
The best students undergo advanced training at the Grenoble University
and at the Lille Regional Management Institute.
