Iraq and Russia Discuss Bilateral Cooperation in the Fields of Security and Defense

Baghdad /NINA/- The Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow, Haider Mansour Al-Adhari, discussed with the Russian Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin, ways of bilateral cooperation in the fields of security and defense between Baghdad and Moscow.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Al-Adhari met yesterday with the Russian Deputy Minister of Defense and discussed with him ways of bilateral cooperation in the fields of security and defense between Baghdad and Moscow.

According to the statement, the ambassador expressed his thanks to Russia for its support to Iraq in its war against terrorism, stressing Iraq’s firm position on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, which supports resolving the conflict through peaceful means, noting that Iraq has diplomatic relations with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

According to the statement, the ambassador stressed the need to end the human massacre to which the Palestinian people in Gaza are subjected by the occupying Israeli forces, and to allow humanitarian aid to reach the Palestinians./End
