Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery

 Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery in the DPRK is a large-scale sapling producer conducive to the provincial afforestation. It has turned out tens of millions of saplings every year.
The tree nursery is associated with the leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who unfolded a grand plan for the forest restoration campaign and has made efforts to carry it into practice.
The General Secretary set forth a task for building the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery into a model and standard of tree nurseries to be built in other provinces and wisely led its construction.
One day in July Juche 107 (2018), he visited the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery and expressed his pleasure at the fact that another large-scale sapling producer was built in a splendid way.
He stressed the need to build the tree nursery, like an arsenal for the forest restoration campaign to turn all mountains in the province into golden mountains and natural raw material bases, into an eternal edifice of lasting value even in the distant future and produce saplings on a mass scale.
He said that the sapling production should be put on a scientific basis of higher level at the nursery and it should ensure two rounds of sapling production per year and turn out more saplings of good species with high economic and ornamental value suited to the climatic and soil conditions of the province so as to get benefits in afforestation.
True to his instructions, officials, technicians and employees of the tree nursery raised the scientific level of sapling production to cultivate many saplings of good species.
In recent years, it has introduced new methods to raise the survival rate and growth rate, thus ensuring the stability of sapling growth and laying a foundation for increased sapling production. -0-
