Spirit of Defending Country in 1950s

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that the spirit of defending the country created during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953) is the most valuable ideological and spiritual legacy to be inherited by the younger generations.
He has ensured that the said spirit, created by the participants in the Fatherland Liberation War at the cost of their blood, is creditably carried forward.
Mirrored in the celebrations and national conferences of war veterans held in Pyongyang to mark the significant war victory day is his high intention to make the rising generations creditably carry forward the spirit of defending the country displayed by the war veterans.
The General Secretary had a photo session with war veterans, although he was very busy with work, and made sure that birthday spreads were prepared for them.
The DPRK people, who will soon mark the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, are now looking back with deep emotion on what he said in his congratulatory speech made at the Fourth National Conference of War Veterans nearly 10 years ago. He said that the war veterans should hand down to the coming generations their unshakable revolutionary faith and indomitable spirit of defending the country as the lineage.
In order to implant in the younger generations the victorious wartime generation's indomitable spirit of defending the country, the General Secretary proposed remodeling the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum and building the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery and wisely guided their construction work.
He gave the army and people of the DPRK such famous songs of the times as "Victory Will Be Won Generation after Generation" and "Song of Pride of Guards Units", so that the whole society could be filled with the traits of imitating the noble moral world of war veterans.
It is the proud reality of the DPRK that the war veterans are respected everywhere and miracles and innovations are being made at every worksite by firmly carrying forward the spirit of defending the country displayed by them. -0-
