African delegations attend opening of HLF-MSP, IAF 2024

Bali, Sept 2 (ANTARA) - Several delegates from African countries attended the opening of the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (HLF-MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) held in Badung, Bali, on Monday (Sept 9).

The delegates were seen attending the opening of the HLF-MSP and the 2nd IAF held in Mulia Hotel, Badung, Bali, from around 8.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. local time and were welcomed by President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The opening ceremony of the HLF-MSP and the 2nd IAF was opened by President Jokowi at around 9.00 a.m. local time.

The delegations comprised President of the Republic of Liberia Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini Russell Mmiso Dlamini.

Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Xanana Gusmao, President of Zanzibar Hussein Ali Mwinyi, and Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe K.C.D. Mohadi were also part of the delegations.

In addition to delegates from African countries, Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, along with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pahala Nugraha Mansury, as well as Minister of National Development Planning and Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa and several others were also present to attend the event.

They attended the opening ceremony of the HLF-MSP and the 2nd IAF included in the Joint Leaders Session.

The HLF-MSP and the 2nd IAF are being held in Badung, Bali, on September 1-3, 2024, to intensify economic cooperation with African countries.

Themed "Bandung Spirit for Africa's Agenda 2063," the forum is expected to serve as a foundation for building cooperation between Indonesia and African countries in the future.

Cooperation in economic transformation, energy, mining, food security, health, and development, among others, will be prioritized at the forum.

Concrete results that are expected to be achieved include agreements between governments (G-to-G), government and businesses (G-to-B), and businesses (B-to-B), and the Grand Design for Indonesia's development with Africa, including with third countries through triangular cooperation.
