President of BRCS meets ICRC Regional delegation

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA): Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), met with Mamadou Sow, Head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, during his official visit to Bahrain.

Sow stated, "This visit reaffirms the strong relationship between the ICRC and the BRCS as both are part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement."

He added, "We are committed to strengthening our partnership in capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and supporting the Society’s role in promoting humanitarian international law nationally," noting the importance of signing a framework partnership agreement between the two entities, which marks a significant step in bolstering bilateral cooperation.

The meeting discussed the humanitarian situation at regional and international levels and explored means to enhance joint responses to current challenges.
