Head Of UN Mission In Iraq: We Are Committed To Supporting Iraq’s Priorities And We Do Not Interfere Except In Consultation
Najaf / NINA /- The Head of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, confirmed that: "The UN mission is committed to supporting Iraq's priorities and does not intervene except in consultation."
Al-Hassan, head of the UNAMI mission in Iraq, pointed out in a press conference after his meeting with the religious authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, the importance of Iraq's position in the regional and international dimensions.
He continued: "I listened to Sayyid al-Sistani's wisdom and his visions for the region and Iraq, and I agreed with him to work together to enhance Iraq's position," stressing the unacceptability of undermining the position of the religious authority in this country, represented by His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani. / End
