Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a museum covering over 386,000 square metres, featuring a modern design with a striking front courtyard and the 45-metre Victory Tower, which commemorates the historic moment in 1945 when President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

In the outdoor display area, the left side showcases weapons and equipment used by the Vietnamese military and people during the resistance against French colonialists, American forces, and in training and defence during the country’s development.

On the right, visitors can see French and American military weapons used during the Vietnam War.

A prominent feature is the MiG-21 "Silver Swallow," number 4324, suspended from the ceiling.

The museum boasts new display techniques and modern technology, including 3D mapping, touchscreen information screens, QR codes for object information, and over 60 video clips, providing an immersive experience.

As visitors move through the museum, they will pass through six exhibition areas arranged in chronological order, with each section highlighting a key historical theme.

The Vietnam Military History Museum is a significant landmark, commemorating several key anniversaries, including the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day./.
