DPRK Taekwon-Do Players Return Home
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home on Thursday after taking part in the 9th International Martial Arts Games held in Uzbekistan.
DPRK players, who competed in the senior category events of "Taekwon-Do World Cup-2024", took the first place in the men's team pattern and team sparring matches. Wang Myong Guk and Kim Jong Gun won the men's individual pattern competitions second and third degrees and Pak Ryon Song came first in women's individual pattern competition second degree.
Jo Kuk Hyon, Sin Yun Hyok and Wang Myong Guk took the first place in the men's 78 kg, 92 kg, and 92+ kg individual sparring matches, while Pak Ryon Song and Kim Yu Jong came first in the women's 57 kg and 77 kg individual sparring matches.
Jong Won Pom and Pak Su Jong bagged gold medals in the senior category events of the15th Juvenile, Youth, Senior and Veteran World Championships and 15th Children's World Cup of the World Karate Confederation.
They were greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by Kim Kum Chol, secretary general of the Cabinet who is member of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee and their families. -0-
