PM Confirms: Spain's Positions Encourage The Government To Establish A Comprehensive And Promising Partnership

Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed that Spain's positions motivate the government to establish a comprehensive and promising partnership.

His media office said in a statement, "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met today, Thursday, in Madrid, with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

The statement added, "During the meeting, the prospects of cooperation between Iraq and Spain were discussed at all levels, and the basic files were discussed, based on the depth of bilateral relations that are based on a distinguished history of cooperation, indicating that this visit comes to continue strengthening them, in addition to what was achieved during Sanchez's visit to Baghdad at the end of last year.

The Prime Minister stressed that Spain's positions motivate the government to establish a comprehensive and promising partnership, which is embodied in the active presence of Spanish companies in the development path in Iraq.

 He pointed out that "strengthening bilateral relations is part of the government's strategy in dealing with all countries of the international coalition after the end of their missions in Iraq, and Spain was one of the participating countries.

Al-Sudani appreciated Spain's positions towards the Palestinian issue, and its clear support for it through recognizing the State of Palestine, in addition to its calls to stop the war on Gaza and Lebanon. The meeting also touched on the convergence of visions regarding international challenges.

For his part, Sanchez thanked Al-Sudani for accepting the invitation and visiting Spain, stressing the importance of Iraq and its centrality in the region. He also pointed out his country's desire to establish a partnership with Iraq, in addition to the desire of Spanish companies to participate in various projects in Iraq. /End
