Baghdad /NINA/- Iraq and Kuwait affirmed their keenness to strengthen cooperation ties to serve common interests and enhance stability in the region.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Technical and Legal Committee held a meeting today, headed by the Iraqi side, Ambassador Abdul Karim Hashem, and Deputy National Security Advisor Essam Al-Saadi, while the Kuwaiti delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The statement explained that "the meeting witnessed a review and discussion of the latest developments related to the work of the committee, with a focus on strengthening bilateral relations and joint cooperation to achieve tangible progress in this file." 

The statement indicated that "the two sides exchanged views with the aim of reaching a common technical vision between the two sides, which would lead to understandings that serve the interests of the two countries." 

The statement continued that "during the meeting, the strength of fraternal relations between Iraq and Kuwait was emphasized, and the two sides' keenness to strengthen cooperation ties, in a way that serves common interests and enhances stability in the region." / End
