Brasília dedicates area to plant Ipe trees for Commemoration Day

Brasília, Dec. 18 (BNA): The Federal District Government in Brasília, Brazil, allocated a space in Asa Delta Park for Bahrain to plant Ipe trees, symbolising the ties between Bahrain and Brazil, in collaboration with Bahrain’s Embassy.

The initiative marked Bahrain Commemoration Day, observed annually on December 17.

At the ceremony, attended by Bader Abbas Al Hulaibi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Brazil, three iconic Ipe trees were planted. Ambassador Al Hulaibi highlighted Commemoration Day’s significance, instituted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to honour those that gave their lives.

He thanked the Federal District Government for dedicating the space, reflecting the ties between both nations.

Commemoration Day coincides with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day, and the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne, and the accompanying national events.
