Shura Secretariat delegation visits Oman’s Shura, State Councils
Muscat, Dec. 19 (BNA): A delegation from the General Secretariat of the Shura Council visited the State Council and Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, aiming to enhance cooperation and coordination and exchanging knowledge and expertise in support roles carried out by general secretariats to facilitate legislative processes.
The delegation met with Khalid bin Ahmed Al Saadi, Secretary-General of the Omani State Council. The meeting reviewed the work processes of the secretariat and the administrative, technical, and advisory support it provides. The Omani Secretary-General commended Bahrain’s Shura Council Secretariat for its commitment to improving its work processes by learning from practices in supporting legislative work, enhancing the skills of its staff, and developing shared objectives through cooperation between the two councils' secretariats. He highlighted the strong relations between Bahrain and Oman and their people as a foundation for further collaboration.
The delegation also toured the Oman Council, attended part of a State Council session to observe the management and organisation of main meetings, and learned about operational mechanisms across different council departments and sectors.
This visit aligns with the administrative and professional development plans of Bahrain’s Shura Council Secretariat, stemming from its strategic plan for 2024–2026. The objective is to identify best practices among secretariats of legislative councils in friendly and brotherly nations.
