In a Joint Press Conference for Iraqi and Omani... FM: Relations With Oman Are Historic and Have Different Dimensions

Baghdad /NINA/ -Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein stressed that relations with the Sultanate of Oman are historical and have different dimensions.

Hussein said in a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman: "There is a high-level activation in the work of the joint Iraqi-Omani committee and we signed memoranda of understanding with Oman in various fields and we have joint work to cancel the entry visa between the two countries and we have great understandings in the field of the private sector." 

He added: "We discussed the Palestinian issue and we have broad understandings with the Omani side on this issue and we agree on the option of a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid." 

He continued: "We also discussed the Syrian situation and there is concern about the possibility of increasing the activity of ISIS terrorist gangs and we are studying the situation in Syria and seeking to help the Syrian people to build a stable political process." 

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Al-Busaidi, confirmed that "there is a strong will to enhance cooperation in various fields between the two countries."

He said: "We are looking forward to a successful Omani participation in Baghdad International Trade Fair."

He added: "We stressed the need to intensify efforts to resolve conflicts in the region." /End
