Al-Hariq Citrus Festival Continues to See Remarkable Turnout

Al-Hariq, January 06, 2025, SPA -- The ninth Citrus Festival in Al-Hariq Governorate continues to see a remarkable turnout, drawing over 170,000 visitors by its fourth day.
The festival, which runs for ten days, has become a key platform for promoting citrus products, fruits, dates, and other local goods, significantly boosting the governorate's economy.
The event generates substantial economic activity, providing farmers with an opportunity to showcase their produce and boost sales. Its diverse range of activities appeals to visitors of all ages. Families enjoy a variety of art and cultural performances, while children engage in sports activities and entertainment theater.
The festival also features competitions with prizes, further enhancing the overall experience.
Additionally, workshops conducted by agricultural experts offer valuable insights into best practices for producing high-quality citrus fruits, with a focus on the latest agricultural technologies. These sessions help in raising awareness among both farmers and visitors about sustainable and healthy farming practices.
Al-Hariq is well-known for its abundant farms, which produce a variety of citrus fruits and dates. It boasts over 340 citrus farms, featuring 96,000 orange trees, 26,000 tangerine trees, 15,000 lemon trees, and 5,000 citron trees. It is also home to more than 670 palm farms with over 120,000 palm trees. This agricultural wealth plays a significant role in strengthening the national economy and enhancing the diversity of local farming.
