The President of the Republic Affirms Iraq's Keenness to Establish Balanced Relations With its Regional Surroundings in Accordance with the Principles of Good Neighborliness

Baghdad /NINA/ - President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed Iraq's keenness to establish balanced relations with its regional surroundings in accordance with the principles of good neighborliness and in a manner that preserves its security, stability and national sovereignty.

The media office of the President of the Republic stated that "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received, today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq, Stephen Charles Hitchen, and discussed relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom and ways to enhance them to include various fields." 

The President of the Republic stressed "the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation and activating bilateral coordination on issues of common interest to serve the supreme interests of the two friendly countries and enhance security and economic stability in the region." 

The President referred to "the security and political stability witnessed by the country and their positive repercussions on the economic, service and living aspects." 

For his part, Hitchen stressed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation with Iraq at various levels, praising Iraq's efforts on the path to establishing the foundations of peace in the region." / End
