Baghdad / NINA /- President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed: "Tourism is a bridge for communication between peoples and cultures," while expressing Iraq's welcome to any effort that supports cultural and economic relations between countries.
A presidential statement stated: "The President of the Republic received at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, the President of the Arab Tourism Organization Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fahid, and the Director General of the Transport and Tourism Department at the League of Arab States Bahjat Abu Al-Nasr, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani."
At the beginning of the meeting, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the President of the Republic, and his congratulations on choosing Baghdad as the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2025. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid also sent his greetings to El-Sisi, and his wishes for the Egyptian people to continue progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the importance of expanding the horizons of cooperation to support joint efforts to make Baghdad the capital of Arab tourism a success, and to promote tourism as a pivotal economic and cultural sector, in a way that enhances Iraq's tourism status at the Arab and international levels.
The President of the Republic pointed out that: "Tourism is not only an economic sector, but it is a bridge for communication between peoples and cultures, which strengthens opportunities for understanding and cooperation," indicating that: "Iraq welcomes every effort that supports cultural and economic relations between countries."
