House Speaker Proposes Iraq Adopting A Conference To Support Syria’s Stability

Baghdad / NINA /- Speaker of the House of Representatives Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani Al-Mashhadani proposed that Iraq adopt a conference for neighboring Arab and Islamic countries to support Syria's stability and stand with it in light of the change it is witnessing.
A statement from his media office said: "Al-Mashhadani met, today, Tuesday, Ali Larijani, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the meeting discussed the most prominent developments and challenges witnessed by the region in general and Syria in particular."
According to the statement, Al-Mashhadani presented a proposal for Iraq to adopt a conference for neighboring Arab and Islamic countries to support Syria's stability and stand with it in light of the change it is witnessing.
According to the statement, Al-Mashhadani stressed that Iraq is keen on the unity and stability of Syria and that a democratic rule should be supported in it with the participation of all parties without marginalization or exclusion."
For his part, Larijani appreciated the Iraqi proposal, stressing that Tehran will be the first country to participate in this conference if everyone agrees on it. / End
