Speaker: Parliamentary support for implementing the Bahrain Summit initiatives and strengthening the Bahrain-Türkiye partnership

Ankara, Feb. 07 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman AlMusallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Numan Kurtulmuş, President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, held a press conference on the occasion of the parliamentary delegation’s visit to Türkiye.

The Speaker commended Bahrain and Türkiye's commitment to supporting regional peace efforts, highlighting the creation of the Bahraini National Committee to oversee the Bahrain Summit initiatives and the ongoing coordination for Arab integration and cooperation in various fields.

Al Musallam emphasised the importance of enhancing coordination mechanisms with countries, as well as relevant local, regional, and international entities, to achieve lasting peace.  

The Speaker highlighted that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, consistently underscores the importance of promoting the values of peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, developing a culture of moderation and dialogue, and prioritising diplomatic solutions to address all challenges and conflicts, ensuring a more secure future for the region.  

Al Musallam highlighted the shared vision between the Council of Representatives and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to boost cooperation in renewable energy, cybersecurity, key industries, tourism, and support the private sector in achieving mutual goals.

The Speaker expressed Bahrain’s sympathy and solidarity with Türkiye following the hotel fire in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort in the Bolu province, northwestern Türkiye. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Turkish government and people and the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery for those injured.
