Egypt To Host An "Emergency Arab Summit" To Discuss Developments In The Palestinian Issue

Baghdad / NINA / -Egypt announced today, Sunday, that it will host an emergency Arab summit to discuss developments in the Palestinian issue on the twenty-seventh of this month.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement that the summit, which came at the request of the Palestinian Authority, will be held in coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the current president of the Arab Summit and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, as well as after consultation and coordination by Egypt at the highest levels with Arab countries, during the last few days.
Egyptian diplomatic sources indicated that the summit being prepared aims to formulate a unified Arab position rejecting the idea of displacing Palestinians from their homeland and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue, and calling for the concerted efforts of the international community to plan and implement a comprehensive reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip, as soon as possible in a way that ensures the Palestinians remain on their land.
It explained that the proposal to hold the summit is met with Arab consensus among member states, noting that there is great diplomatic activity witnessed by the Arab League and member states to hold the summit./End
