Foreign Minister receives Nigerian counterpart

Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA):  Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.

The minister welcomed his Nigerian counterpart and reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening ties with Nigeria at all levels, recognising the country’s significant role in Africa and on the global stage.  He highlighted the shared interest in expanding bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests.

Minister Tuggar underscored Nigeria’s interest in deepening relations with Bahrain across key sectors of mutual concern.  He emphasised the strong ties between the two countries and their commitment to fostering constructive relations based on mutual respect and collaboration.

The meeting discussed regional and international issues of common interest and explored means to enhance bilateral relations across various domains.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director-General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA); Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Turaifi, Chief of Arab and African Affairs Sector; and Ali Khalid Al Araifi, Head of Al Madar Centre.
