PM Receives in Munich the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean and the Middle East

Baghdad / NINA / -Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received, at his residence in Munich, today, Friday, the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean and the Middle East, Dubravka Suica.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office stated that the meeting witnessed the discussion of relations with the European Commission, and ways to enhance them in various fields, and a review of the government's efforts to achieve the convening of subcommittee meetings between the two sides.
The Prime Minister congratulated Suica on assuming her new duties, stressing the agreement with the President of the European Council on joint cooperation, and the desire to hold the bilateral (Cooperation Council) during this year.
Al-Sudani stressed the government's insistence on resolving the issue of lifting the European air ban on Iraqi Airways, and the participation of the Civil Aviation Authority in the technical meeting with the European Air Safety Team, to discuss the implementation of recommendations, and evaluate the progress made by Iraq in applying international safety standards.
Al-Sudani stressed Iraq's desire for all European countries to reopen their diplomatic missions in Baghdad, and Iraq is currently studying opening new missions in some European cities, in addition to urging the European side to enhance European companies' investments in Iraq, especially in the fields of environment, energy, and agriculture with modern technologies.
For her part, Soika expressed keenness and desire to enhance and develop economic relations, and support the work of European companies in Iraq, in light of the strategic and investment projects announced by Iraq./End
