Information Minister receives IOM Mission Chief to Bahrain

Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA): Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, received Aishath Ihma Shareef, Chief of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to Bahrain.

 

The minister emphasised the role of the United Nations and its agencies in addressing global issues, including migration and combating human trafficking.

 

Dr. Al Noaimi underscored Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to supporting global efforts against human trafficking and protecting expatriate workers’ rights.

 

This commitment has earned Bahrain top rankings on international indices, including maintaining its Tier 1 status in the US Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for seven consecutive years; an achievement among 188 countries that reflects Bahrain’s success in establishing a stable and advanced living and working environment.

 

On her part, the IOM Chief of Mission commended Bahrain’s efforts in combating human trafficking and protecting expatriate workers, underscoring the organisation’s commitment to strengthening cooperation to achieve shared objectives.
