New School Year for 2025 Begins in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- School-opening ceremonies took place at educational institutions across the DPRK on April 1 to mark the new school year for 2025.
On the morning of the school opening day, schoolchildren full of happiness put on new uniforms, shoes and Sonamu-branded school bags to go to schools.
Ceremonies were held at universities and colleges and all other schools across the country.
Kim Il Sung University, Phyongsong University of Education, Changdok School, Amnokgang Secondary School No. 1, Sampho Senior Middle School in Kim Hyong Jik County, Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans, Nampho Primary School for Orphans, Tangsang Primary School in Mangyongdae District, Singye Primary School in Singye County and all other schools were wrapped in a festive mood.
Hadan Senior Middle School No. 1 in Sinuiju City, Kwangmyong Senior Middle School in Songgan County and other schools wonderfully built in the flood-hit areas last year were crowded with many parents who gathered together with their children full of joy.
Prior to the opening ceremonies, there took place national flag-hoisting ceremonies.
Officials of the Party and power organs and relevant institutions, teaching staff and schoolchildren presented bouquets to the new pupils and students entering the campuses and congratulated them.
Addresses and speeches were made at the opening ceremonies.
